We are currently recruiting for a Purchasing Officer to join a renowned client operating in the FMCG sector. Duties:

Plan and forecast orders against historical consumptions

Analyse consumption levels and replenish stocks according to future requirements taking into consideration product seasonality, promotions, supplier lead times etc

Prepare a schedule of weekly stock replenishment

Control and report stock shortages 

Maintain adequate stock levels

Submit orders and follow up with suppliers and freight forwarders

Optimise orders 

Compile landed costs and analyse price fluctuations against standard costings

Create and maintain product codes in ERP

Negotiate pricing and payment terms with existing and/or new suppliers

Liaise deliveries for incoming shipments with internal departments

Check goods received in store against Purchase Order/Invoices

Generate relative reports and statistics

Be able to identify product Hs Codes, Vat rate, Excise rates etc

Requirements:

A minimum O level standard of education

Computer literate

Past work experience in a similar role is a plus
